Dear credit union member,
Welcome to the new year and a new look for our newsletter! We hope you enjoy the new format and find it easier to read on your mobile device.
In 2021, we celebrated our 60th anniversary by contributing more than $360,000 to organizations throughout our service area as well as supporting the global credit union movement. We also launched the Peach State FCU C.A.R.E.S. Foundation with a mission of helping our members and communities continue to grow. Don’t forget – when you use your Peach State VISA® Debit Card instead of cash, checks or other cards you’re making a meaningful impact in your community with every purchase. Be sure to keep it at the top of your wallet!
Our annual scholarship program kicked off in December and we’re looking forward to awarding almost $200,000 in scholarships and educational grants this spring. Applications are available for download on our website and winners will be announced this Spring.
The new year is generally a time for reflecting on many aspects of your life and for many people, that includes your financial situation. If you’ve resolved to improve your finances or get out of debt this year, you can find resources on our blog and through our partner, BALANCE. We understand that each member’s situation is unique and we’re here to help! If you’re not sure where to start, please call us at 855.889.4328 or reach out through our website.
As we look forward to another year of growth and supporting our neighbors, please let us know how we can help you achieve your financial goals in 2022.
Thank you for your membership,
Marshall Boutwell
President/CEO

Peach State’s President/CEO Awarded
the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland
In September, our President/CEO, Marshall Boutwell, was honored by the Polish Ambassador to the United States at the Polish Embassy in Washington, D.C. Marshall was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, one of the highest awards Poland bestows upon non-citizens, for his support of the country’s credit union movement.
Marshall’s long history of cooperating with Poland began in 1996 when he joined the Georgia-Polish Partnership which links credit union executives from Georgia with their counterparts in Polish credit unions. He was one of the original participants in the program and still provides support to Peach State’s partner credit union in Poland.
“The efforts of Marshall Boutwell have undoubtedly improved the lives of many credit union members in Poland by helping to bring responsible financial services to many who never had them before. This recognition for his relentless efforts is well deserved,” said Rafał Matusiak, President of NACSCU and Chair of World Council’s Board of Directors.
Congratulations, Marshall!
We offer the following options for debt consolidation:
Each member’s financial situation is unique and there is no one-size-fits-all solution, but we’re here to help! How to get started:
- Speak with a Loan Specialist in our Loans By Phone Call Center at 770.580.6000 OR
- Visit any branch location and speak with a Member Service Advisor or Branch Manager
You can also learn more about debt consolidation and download a “Debt Snowball Tracker” worksheet on our website. Get started by downloading the “Debt Consolidation: Expectations vs. Reality” ebook!
No matter what path you choose to take for getting out of debt, beware of quick fixes or options that seem too good to be true. In many cases, payday lenders (“Buy Here, Pay Here” businesses) and Point of Sale (POS) loans can charge extremely high interest rates that may make your situation worse.
