Full Time Teller - North Decatur Branch

Summary:

To assist members with their financial transactions, involving paying and receiving cash and other negotiable instruments

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Receives and processes member financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals and loan payments; sells money orders and gift cards to members; transfers amounts from member accounts as directed.
  • Post transactions to member accounts.
  • Welcomes members and provides routine information concerning products and services and directs members to appropriate department for specific information about products and services.
  • Balance cash drawer and transactions daily.
  • Cross-sells credit union products and services.
  • Performs a variety of miscellaneous tasks including typing, filing, computer input and answering the telephone.
  • Other duties as assigned

Performance Measurements:

  • To provide friendly, professional, personal service to all members.
  • To balance at least 98% of the time, being no more than $25 off and with total offages not to exceed $500 in a 12 month period.
  • To handle at least 100 transactions per day.
  • To have no more than one posting error per month.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience: One year to three years of similar or related experience.
Education: A high school education or GED.
Skills: Work normally involves contacts with persons beyond immediate associates generally regarding routine matters for purposes of giving or obtaining information which may require some discussion. Outside contacts take the form of service to the public (members or vendors) requiring ordinary courtesy in providing assistance and information.
Other Skills: Ten key calculator and computer keyboard by touch. Must be good with detail to deal with numbers and names.

Call Center Representative

Primary Functions:

The responsibilities of this position include performing a wide variety of sales and service transactions by phone, fax, or email, including but not limited to the following:

  • Answer incoming calls and assist members with account inquiries, review members accounts to identify and recommend appropriate products and services.
  • Complete account research and perform data entry to update and maintain member records.
  • Solve problems accurately and follow through on resolutions.
  • Act as liaison between members and other credit union departments.
  • Works hand in hand with all back office departments including: Operations, Loan Operations, Accounting, E-commerce/Card Services, Member Solutions.
  • Support and contribute to the success of the department by providing effective and efficient member services.
  • Navigate between multiple credit union systems (i.e. I-Power, Criterion, Client Workstation, etc)
  • Must be willing to work two or more Saturdays a month.

Knowledge/skills:

  • Prior customer service experience in the financial industry preferred
  • Ability to provide excellent member service over the phone/prior call center experience a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and professional manner
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to cross-sell products and services
  • Must be well organized and attentive to details
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Must have strong computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet and Email
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish/Bosnian) skills a plus
