Peach State is awarding $161,000 in scholarships and educational grants!

Peach State is excited to announce the availability of more than $161,000 in scholarships and grants! Click on the title of the scholarship to learn about eligibility and download an application.

How to Apply

Click on the links above to apply for the scholarship of your choosing. Please do not submit multiple applications for our Student or Career Advancement Scholarships. Applications to more than one of our scholarships will not increase your eligibility or chances of being selected.

Completed applications can be sent to: Scholarship Committee, Peach State Federal Credit Union, 1505 Lakes Parkway, Suite 100, Lawrenceville, Georgia 30043.  Applications and supporting documents must be received with your completed application by the credit union by Friday, March 15, 2019. Winners will be selected by the end of April 2019 and notified shortly thereafter.

This scholarship honors Andy Byers, retired Superintendent of Jackson County Schools, for his contributions to the Jackson County school system.

Scholarship Amount: $2,000
Number of Recipients: 1
Eligibility Requirements: Awarded to a Jackson County Public School graduating senior pursuing a degree in education.

This scholarship honors Brian J. Mulherin, Sr. (former Director Emeritus for Richmond Community FCU prior to their merger with Peach State FCU) for his commitment and dedication to the credit union and the citizens of the Richmond County community.

Number of Recipients: 1
Eligibility Requirements: Awarded to a Richmond County High School graduate on the basis of financial need, academic credentials, and a demonstrated commitment to community service.

This scholarship honors Dan Cromer, retired Superintendent of Barrow County Schools, for his contributions to the Barrow County school system.

Eligibility Requirements: Awarded to a Barrow County Public School graduating senior pursuing a degree in education.

This scholarship is in honor of Dr. Frances Davis, Associate Superintendent of District Performance and Community Engagement at Gwinnett County Public Schools, for more than two decades of service on Peach State FCU’s Board of Directors.

Eligibility Requirements: Awarded to a Gwinnett County Public School graduating senior pursuing a degree in education.

This scholarship is in honor of Gary Hobbs, retired Superintendent of Walton County Schools, for his contributions to the Walton County school system.

This scholarship honors the volunteer Board of Directors from Richmond Community FCU for their years of service and dedication to the credit union (prior to their merger with Peach State FCU).

Eligibility Requirements: Awarded to a Richmond County High School graduate on the basis of financial need, academic credentials, and a demonstrated commitment to community service.

This scholarship is to honor the legacy of past and present board members and employees who have served Peach State Federal Credit Union for 20 years or more.

Scholarship Amount: $2,000
Number of Recipients: 1
Eligibility Requirements: Awarded to a graduating high school senior from Aiken County Schools on the basis of financial need, academic credentials, and a demonstrated commitment to community service.

This scholarship honors Janet Pomeroy and Pearlie Woods for their commitment and dedication to the credit union and the citizens of the Athens/Clarke County community.

Eligibility Requirements: Awarded to a Clarke County High School graduate on the basis of financial need, academic credentials, and a demonstrated commitment to community service.

This scholarship honors the legacy of past and present board members and employees who have served Peach State Federal Credit Union for 20 years or more.

Scholarship Amount: $2,000
Number of Recipients: 9
Eligibility Requirements: Must be a graduating high school senior intending to pursue a degree in education. Applicants must attend a public school that is in Peach State’s service area (Barrow, Burke, Chattooga, Clarke, DeKalb, Gwinnett, Habersham, Jackson, Oconee, Richmond, Stephens, Towns, Union, Walker and Walton counties in Georgia or Abbeville, Aiken, Greenwood or Laurens counties in South Carolina) or a private school that is in one of our Select Employee Groups. These scholarships honor the founders of Peach State Federal Credit Union.  Realizing the importance of education as a lifelong experience, this scholarship is for credit union members who have started a career and have decided to enroll in classes to further their education for career advancement. 

Scholarship Amount: $2,000
Number of Recipients: 24
Eligibility Requirements: In order to apply for this scholarship, you must currently be employed and be a Peach State member in good standing with an active account that has been open for a minimum of one year1.  Additionally, you must currently be enrolled in an accredited program of study at a college, university or technical institute with the goal of career advancement.

  • 1 Members from merged credit unions who have held accounts for at least one year at Lakelands FCU, Southeast FCU, Stephens-Franklin Teachers FCU and Towns Union Educators FCU are eligible to apply.

This scholarship honors Wilma Widmer for her years of service on Peach State FCU’s Supervisory Committee.  Realizing the importance of education as a lifelong experience, this scholarship is for credit union members who have started a career and have decided to enroll in classes to further their education for career advancement. 

Scholarship Amount: $2,000
Number of Recipients: 1
Eligibility Requirements: In order to apply for this scholarship, you must currently be employed in Walton County, and be a Peach State member in good standing with an active account that has been open for a minimum of one year.  Additionally, you must currently be enrolled in an accredited program of study at a college, university or technical institute with the goal of career advancement.
