Applications and supporting documents must be received by the credit union by Friday, February 24, 2023. Winners will be selected by March 31st and notified shortly thereafter.

Your application will be considered for any scholarship for which you are eligible (award amounts may vary). Applications to more than one of our scholarships will not increase your eligibility or chances of being selected.

Student Scholarships
Peach State is proud to support students as they continue their educational journey. Our goal is to help offset some of the financial responsibilities that students are faced with as they plan for their post-secondary education.
- Who Is Eligible to Apply? Graduating seniors in high school who attend a public school in our service area or a private school that is one of our Select Employee Groups.1
- Membership Not Required Membership is not required for any of our student scholarships.

Legacy Student Scholarships
These scholarships were created to honor the credit union’s Board members and employees who have served Peach State for 20 years or more. They will be awarded to seniors in high school who are pursuing a college degree.
Applications and supporting documents must be received by the credit union by Friday, February 24, 2023. Winners will be selected by March 31st and notified shortly thereafter.
Andy Byers Student Scholarship
Andy Byers Student Scholarship
This scholarship is in honor of Andy Byers, retired Superintendent of Jackson County Schools, for his contributions to the Jackson County school system. It will be awarded to a Jackson County Public School graduating senior pursuing a degree in education.
Applications and supporting documents must be received by the credit union by Friday, February 24, 2023. Winners will be selected by March 31st and notified shortly thereafter.
Rick Cost Student Scholarship
Rick Cost Student Scholarship
This scholarship is in honor of Rick Cost, retired Chief Financial Officer at Gwinnett County Public Schools, for his contributions to the Gwinnett County school system. It will be awarded to a Gwinnett County Public School graduating senior pursuing a degree in education.
Applications and supporting documents must be received by the credit union by Friday, February 24, 2023. Winners will be selected by March 31st and notified shortly thereafter.
Dan Cromer Student Scholarship
Dan Cromer Student Scholarship
This scholarship honors the late Dan Cromer, former Superintendent of Barrow County Schools, for his contributions to the Barrow County school system. It will be awarded to a Barrow County Public School graduating senior pursuing a degree in education.
Applications and supporting documents must be received by the credit union by Friday, February 24, 2023. Winners will be selected by March 31st and notified shortly thereafter.
Dr. Frances Davis Student Scholarship
Dr. Frances Davis Student Scholarship
This scholarship is in honor of Dr. Frances Davis, retired Associate Superintendent of District Performance and Community Engagement at Gwinnett County Public Schools, for more than two decades of service on Peach State FCU’s Board of Directors. It will be awarded to a Gwinnett County Public School graduating senior pursuing a degree in education.
Applications and supporting documents must be received by the credit union by Friday, February 24, 2023. Winners will be selected by March 31st and notified shortly thereafter.
Gary Hobbs Student Scholarship

This scholarship is in honor of Gary Hobbs, retired Superintendent of Walton County Schools, for his contributions to the Walton County school system. It will be awarded to a Walton County Public School graduating senior pursuing a degree in education.

Dr. John Jackson Student Scholarship (Business Majors)

This scholarship is in honor of Dr. John Jackson, retired Superintendent of Oconee County Schools, for his contributions to the Oconee County school system. It will be awarded to an Oconee County Public School graduating senior pursuing a degree in business.

This scholarship is to honor the legacy of past and present board members and employees who have served Peach State Federal Credit Union for 20 years or more. It will be awarded to a Trion High School graduating senior who is pursuing a college degree in any field.

Student Scholarships
Financial hardship shouldn't prevent students from furthering their education. A number of our student scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need, academic credentials, and a demonstrated commitment to community service.

Marion Barnes Student Scholarship
This scholarship honors Marion Barnes (former Board Member for Richmond County Teachers FCU prior to their merger with Peach State FCU) for his commitment and dedication to the credit union and the citizens of the Richmond County community. It will be awarded to a Richmond County High School graduate on the basis of financial need, academic credentials, and a demonstrated commitment to community service.

Gracewood Student Scholarship
Gracewood Student Scholarship
This scholarship honors the volunteer Board of Directors from Richmond Community FCU for their years of service and dedication to the credit union (prior to their merger with Peach State FCU). It will be awarded to a Richmond County High School graduate on the basis of financial need, academic credentials, and a demonstrated commitment to community service.

Brian J. Mulherin, Sr. Student Scholarship

This scholarship honors Brian J. Mulherin, Sr. (former Director Emeritus for Richmond Community FCU prior to their merger with Peach State FCU) for his commitment and dedication to the credit union and the citizens of the Richmond County community. It will be awarded to a Richmond County High School graduate on the basis of financial need, academic credentials, and a demonstrated commitment to community service.

Peach State Student Scholarships
These scholarships honor the legacy of past and present board members and employees who have served Peach State Federal Credit Union for 20 years or more. They will be awarded to a graduating high school senior from Aiken County Schools on the basis of financial need, academic credentials, and a demonstrated commitment to community service.
Applications and supporting documents must be received by the credit union by Friday, February 24, 2023. Winners will be selected by March 31st and notified shortly thereafter.
Pomeroy Woods Student Scholarships

These scholarships honor Janet Pomeroy and Pearlie Woods for their commitment and dedication to the credit union and the citizens of the Athens/Clarke County community. They will be awarded to a Clarke County High School graduate on the basis of financial need, academic credentials, and a demonstrated commitment to community service.

Richmond County Teachers Student Scholarship
Richmond County Teachers Student Scholarship
This scholarship honors the volunteer Board of Directors from Richmond County Teachers FCU for their years of service and dedication to the credit union (prior to their merger with Peach State FCU). It will be awarded to a Richmond County High School graduate on the basis of financial need, academic credentials, and a demonstrated commitment to community service.

Career Advancement Scholarships
Peach State is proud to support our members as they continue their educational journey with a goal to advance their career. We aim to help offset some of the expense that comes along with attending a college, university, or technical institute.
- Membership is Required You must currently be a Peach State member in good standing with an active account that has been open for a minimum of one year. 2
- Currently Enrolled You must currently be enrolled in an accredited program of study at a college, university or technical institute with the goal of career advancement.
- Currently Employed You must currently be employed in the field for which you are continuing your studies.

These scholarships honor Peach State’s founders, educators in Gwinnett County. These were created out of respect for those roots in education and recognize the importance of education as a lifelong experience. These scholarships will be awarded to eligible members of our credit union.

Wilma Widmer Career Advancement Scholarship
Wilma Widmer Career Advancement Scholarship
This scholarship honors Wilma for her years of service on Peach State FCU’s Supervisory Committee. This scholarship is for a credit union member who is employed in Walton County, has started a career, and decided to enroll in classes to further their education for career advancement.
